We teach our kids all the time about how to stay safe. We tell them about looking to the left and then to the right while crossing the street, and we teach them not to accept food or things from a stranger.
Nowadays, in light of an increase in child abuse cases, the slogan “good touch, bad touch” is something that we need to share with our children.
As one of the leading playschools in Kolkata, we’d like to discuss this topic in today’s blog.
A good touch is an acceptable form of touch. It could be a hug from a loved one, a pat on the head or the back, or a handshake. These forms of touch do not make a child feel uncomfortable.
A bad touch is any touch that makes a child feel unsafe or sexually violated. Examples could include touching genitalia, regions between the legs, or the mouth.
Teach Children to Keep Their Bodies Safe
As one of the leading playschools in Kolkata, we do teach our children to be careful about who is touching them and where they are being touched. We express to children what a good touch is and what a bad touch is and how they need to be careful when interacting with other children as well as strangers.
You can talk to your child about good touch and bad touch as soon as they start a playschool in Kolkata. It is considered better when the parent breaks this sensitive news to the child. Also, ask the child to report the matter to an authority figure as soon as any kind of bad touch occurs. Tell them not to be afraid or get scared by the person who performed the bad touch, but ask them to inform a teacher or an adult they trust immediately.
As our world becomes more and more complex, it is necessary for us to make children aware of the complexities at the level of a playschool in Kolkata itself.
As parents, caregivers, and authority figures, let’s talk about these sensitive subjects and enlighten our children about possible ways in which they can be harmed.
We have a duty to protect our children and the task starts with us.
